Inspection and Repair - Failure Codes

Multi-function display Showing Failure Code Content of Failure Corrective & Preventive Measures
E-01 Over-voltage of bus bar When the voltage of DC bus bar exceeds the set value of the system, the controller will shut down. After overvoltage protection occurs, the ignition switch returns to the "OFF" position, and the system will not run again until the system resets. If over-voltage protection occurs repeatedly -- which should be regarded as a failure -- the controller must be replaced.
E-02 IPM failure When it is detected that IPM has to much current, the controller will turn off its output and an alarm will sound. If this occurs, the ignition switch returns to the "OFF" position, and the system will not run again until the system resets. If IPM protection occurs repeatedly -- which should be regarded as failure - there may be IPM damage or a short circuit at load end. Replace the IPM or inspect whether the motor and the connecting cable are grounded.
E-03 Motor over current When it is detected on control circuit that the output current of controller is more than the set value, controller will shut off its output and sound alarm. After over-current protection occurs, the ignition switch returns to "OFF" position, and the system will not run again until the system resets. If over current occurs repeatedly -- which should be regarded as failure - check that motor and the connecting cable are grounded.
E-04 Neutral position detection when Powered on. When the vehicle is on, if the direction selection switch is placed on "R" or "L", the electric control system has no output, and shows this failure code. Place the ignition switch on "OFF", and place the direction select switch on "N" position, then start the vehicle again. This failure will disappear.
E-05 Controller Overheat The controller detects high temperature of radiator if the temperature is more than 75°C. The controller will sound alarm but will not shut off its output. You should reduce the load on this vehicle after the alarm signal appears.
E-06 Under- voltage of battery When DC supply voltage is less than the set value of system, controller will shut off and sound alarm. If the battery under-voltage alarm occurs, the battery pack has to be charged completely. If the alarm persists after the vehicle is charged, inspect the connection circuit between controller and the main battery. If the circuit connection is normal, the alarm should be regarded as failure; repair or replace the controller.
E-07 Excess Motor speed RPMs reach or exceed limits, which shuts off the output of the controller.
E-08 Overload of thermal relay When the load capacity of motor is exceeded, the controller sounds an alarm, and reduces the output power. Reduce the load and alarm should disappear.
E-09 Logic protection for driving When vehicle is running, if the position of the direction select switch is changed, the controller shuts down, and outputs this failure code. Place the ignition switch in "OFF" position, check the direction selection switch and service braking switch as well as its connection circuit, and then start the vehicle again.
E-10 Parking break check Check travel of brake pedal. When the vehicle is ready to move, step on the service brake and then step on the accelerator, the controller will shut off its output and sound an alarm. Release the accelerator and push down hand brake, and the alarm will disappear.
E-11 Contactor is welded shut Inspect the contacts of contactor and repair or replace as appropriate
E-12 Contactor failure Inspect the operating coil circuit and fuse of contactor; replace contactor; a voltage of less than 12V on the auxiliary circuit also results in the loss of the power to the contactor. Refer to Inspection and Repair  .Inspect whether the charging plug is plugged in; inspect power circuit wiring.
E-13 Encoder failure Inspect circuit; replace encoder.
E-14 Pre-charging circuit failure Inspect circuit; replace pre-charging resistance.
E-15 Hi-Pedal Fault Check start position of accelerator pedal.
E-16 Voltage sensor failure Inspect circuit; replace voltage sensor.
E-17 Phase stagger Exchange two of the three phase lines.
E-18 Phase failure N/A
E-19 Open phase Inspect the connection of phasing line, and guarantee reliability.
E-20 Pedal position of accelerator Step on and release accelerator pedal and the failure will automatically disappear. If not, exclude mechanical failure or replace the sensor of accelerator.
E-21 Wrong starting order Before starting vehicle, direction switch must be in "N" position.
