Exploded View Of Steering Gear
- Install the steering gear into the jaw vice.
- Alignment mark on the joint ends of tie rod and steering.
- Remove the rubber bushing.
- Disassemble the outer tie rod end assembly.
- Disassemble the spring clamp.
- Disassemble clamp.
- Remove expansion rubber sleeve (bellows boot).
- Disassemble the tie rod ball joint assembly.
- Use the jaw vice to take off lock nut of the tie rod ball joint assembly.
- Adjust the plug lock nut
- Unscrew the adjustable plug.
- Unscrew adjustable plug.
- Take off adjustable spring and block.
- Take off steering rack.
- Pull the rack out of housing from side as shown in the figure to avoid damaging rack guide bushing.
- Do not rotate the rack and keep it flat and straight when pulling it out.
- Take off oil seal with a screwdriver.
- Remove retainer ring with snap ring pliers.
- Disassemble steering rack and bearing.
- Remove bearing retainer ring with circlip pliers.
- Disassemble ball bearings with a puller.
Attention: Distinguish between the left and right end.

Attention: Be careful not to damage steering housing during removal. Do not reuse the dismantled oil seal.
