Removal and Installation

While disassembling the steering wheel, lock the steering column in a "straight ahead position" to avoid damage to attachments and steering wheel while reassembling.

To do this, apply masking tape on the top center of the steering wheel and steering column upper cover. This tape can be used for realigning the steering column to the steering wheel.

Before disassembling, disconnect the auxiliary battery to disable the horn.

  1. Remove the upper cover of the steering wheel by pulling it upward along the front edge.
  2. Unscrew the four screws as indicated.

  4. Remove the touch pad assembly of the horn button.

  6. Remove the horn button insulation spacer and contact spring from the horn button touch pad.
  7. Remove the lower cover subassembly
  8. Assembly sequence is opposite to disassembly.
