Power Mirror Switch Circuit Test
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect mirror switch harness connector. Using an ohmmeter, connect negative lead to switch connector (harness side) terminal No. 1. See Fig 1
. With ohmmeter positive lead, check for continuity at terminals No. 5, 7, 8 and 10. If no continuity is present at any terminal, repair open in Black/White wire between mirror control switch and power mirrors. If no continuity is present at any one terminal, motor in power mirror or circuit itself is faulty. Repair as necessary.
- Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and mirror switch harness connector terminal No. 7 with ignition switch in ACC position. If battery voltage is not present, check AUDIO/MIRROR fuse. Repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between mirror switch harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If continuity is present, repair short to ground in Black/White wire between mirror control switch and power mirrors.
- Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between mirror switch harness connector terminal No. 9 and chassis ground. If no continuity is present, repair open in Black wire between mirror control switch and chassis ground.
