Description & Operation

NOTE: To locate power window components, see Fig 1 or Fig 2 .

A reversible, permanent magnet motor operates each power window. Driver's master switch controls all windows. Passenger switches control only the associated window. If the main switch is in OFF position, only the driver's window operates.

AUTO mode permits driver's window to be fully lowered without holding switch. Pressing switch down to its second detent position will engage AUTO mode, fully lowering window. AUTO function is controlled by an integral pulser within the driver's window motor assembly. The pulser cannot be serviced separately.

Each motor is protected by a built-in circuit breaker. If window switch is held in UP or DOWN position after window reaches travel limit, circuit breaker will open circuit. After circuit breaker opens circuit, it will close as it cools.

Power windows may be operated for approximately 10 minutes after ignition switch is turned off, as long as neither front door is opened. If time delay function is interrupted, ignition must be turned on again to operate windows.
