Door Multiplex Control Unit-To-Driver's Multiplex Control Unit

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door trim panel. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect door multiplex control unit connector. Remove driver's underdash fuse/relay box located under instrument panel. See DRIVER'S UNDERDASH FUSE/RELAY BOX  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect driver's multiplex control unit from underdash fuse/relay box. Disconnect driver's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin connector "B". Go to next step.
  2. Check continuity in Brown/Yellow wire (communication line) between door multiplex control unit Blue 20-pin harness connector terminal No. 15 and driver's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin harness connector "B" terminal No. 23. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in circuit. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
  3. Reconnect door multiplex control unit and driver's multiplex control unit connectors. Turn ignition on. Backprobing, check voltage between ground and door multiplex control unit Blue 20-pin connector terminal No. 15 (Brown/Yellow wire) and driver's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin connector "B" terminal No. 23 (Brown/Yellow wire), individually. Voltage should read 2.4-4.2 volts. If voltage is as specified, communication line between driver's multiplex control unit and door multiplex control unit is okay, check system sleep and wake-up mode operation. Go to SLEEP & WAKE-UP FUNCTION  . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
  4. If voltage is 4.2 volts or more, check for short to power or faulty connector at receiving multiplex control unit. If voltage is 2.4 volts or less, check for short to ground or faulty connector at transmitting multiplex control unit. If circuit and connector are okay, check for malfunctioning transmitting multiplex control unit. Repair as necessary. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
