DTC B1706: Display Panel Control Unit Lost Communication with the Gauge Control Module (VSP/NE Signal)
NOTE:
- Display panel control unit DTCs may not clear using the HDS. If the DTCs will not clear, manually reset the display panel control unit (see RESETTING THE DISPLAY PANEL ).
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN system diagnosis test mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear for DTC with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II).
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1706 indicated?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Intermittent failure. The display panel control unit is OK at this time. Check loose and poor connections.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are any of the following DTCs indicated: B1011, B1060, or B1805?
YES -Go to the Gauge Control Module Input Test (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE INPUT TEST ).
NO -Replace the display panel control unit.
