5 BLK GND (Ground) (G501) Ground for display unit 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
6 RED ILL (-) (Illumination negative) Parking light (for bulb) brightness control signal Lights on: battery voltage Lights off: 0 V If open: When brightness = "AUTO", night mode for the display is inoperative when lights on.
If short to ground: Parking light is on every time.
7 BLU AUD BUS (+) (Audio bus positive) Data bus (+) GA-Net 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V depends on bus traffic If open: Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
If short to ground: Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
8 RED/BLK ILL (+) (Illumination positive) Parking light on signal Lights on: battery voltage Lights off: 0 V If open: When brightness = "AUTO", night mode for the display is inoperative when lights on.
If short to ground: Blows No. 4 (10 A) fuse in under-hood fuse/relay box.
9 YEL/RED ACC (Accessory) No. 32 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/ relay box Ignition ON input Battery voltage at ACC (I) If open: Display and buttons do not work.

(1) The shielded wires have a heat-shrunk tube insulating the outside of the wire. The color of the insulating tube, typically black or dark gray, may not match the color of the wire listed on the schematic.

If short: Same as OPEN
2 RED FR DEF (Front defroster) Front defroster switch momentary ON or OFF signal to the climate control unit Front defroster switch signal to A/C 5 VDC If open: Front Defrost button on display panel does not work, but the navigation system can still command front defroster ON and OFF; subdisplay functions normally; "A/C" link in the navigation diagnose links is GREEN
If short: Will command the front defrost either ON or OFF depending on the front defroster status before the wire was shorted; A momentary short will cause the Front Defroster to toggle ON and OFF; subdisplay functions normally; "A/C" link in the navigation diagnose links is GREEN
3 LT GRN A/C RX (Air conditioner receive) Communication signal for climate control unit (UART receive display panel-A/C) 5-6 V AC If open: All HVAC functions in the subdisplay are inoperative; "A/C" link in the navigation diagnose links is RED; LED in the Front Defrost button is inoperative
If short: Same as OPEN
4 BRN A/C TX (Air conditioner transmit) Communication signal for climate control unit (UART transmit display panel to A/C) 5-7 V AC If open: All HVAC functions in the subdisplay are inoperative; navigation system cannot command the HVAC; HVAC system defaults to Front Defrost, blower speed HIGH; Front Defrost button does not operate; "A/C" link in the navigation diagnose links is GREEN
5 WHT IG2 (Ignition 2) Power source for switch signal (to inform display panel ignition switch ON (II) 7-9 V DC from climate control unit at ignition switch ON (II) If open: All HVAC functions in the subdisplay are inoperative; HVAC system defaults to Front Defrost, blower speed HIGH; Front and Rear Defrost buttons do not work

18 PUR LCD BL (+) (LCD back light +) Power for LCD back light + 9.5 V If open: Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit completely blank.
If short to ground: Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit completely blank.
19 ORN LCD BL (-) (LCD backlight-) Power for LCD backlight- 0-0.2 V If open: Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit functions normally, but display is very dim.
If short to ground: Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit functions normally.
20 BLU/ORN SD+B Power source for audio-HVAC subdisplay unit 5 V If open: All Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit LCD segments show briefly at key on.
If short to ground: All Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit LCD segments do not work, Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit backlight on.
21 YEL CL Time information signal 0-5 V Data

If open: Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit randomly displays some characters, display backlight on.
If short to ground: Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit randomly displays some characters, display backlight on.
22 YEL/RED INH Time set sync signal 5 V If open: Clock Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit will not set to navigation time (when time offset is applied or when "Reset" touched in Setup "Clock Adjustment" screen).
If short to ground: All Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit LCD segments do not work, display backlight on.
