DTC U128D: Lost Communication With Gauge Control Module on BCAN (Multi View Camera Unit) (2018-19)

NOTE: If DTC U128D is stored, then recheck for gauge control module circuit (+B BACK UP, IG1 METER, SGND, PGND line).

DTC (MVCS)

Problem verification

-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

- 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

- 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

- 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for at least 6 seconds.

- 5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U128D indicated?

YES

Failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

Open wire check (B-CAN_L, B-CAN_H lines)

-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.

Multi view camera unit connector A (20P)

Gauge control module connector A (32P)

- 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
	Multi view camera unit connector A (20P): disconnected
	Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
Test point 1	Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 20
Test point 2	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 26 - Refer to: Gauge Control Module Connector For Inputs And Outputs (Without SH-AWD) (2015-17) or Gauge Control Module Connector For Inputs And Outputs (With SH-AWD) (2015-17) or Gauge Control Module Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018-19)

Test point 1	Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 19
Test point 2	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 25 - Refer to: Gauge Control Module Connector For Inputs And Outputs (Without SH-AWD) (2015-17) or Gauge Control Module Connector For Inputs And Outputs (With SH-AWD) (2015-17) or Gauge Control Module Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2018-19)

Is there continuity?

YES

Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the multi view camera unit.
