Multi View Camera System (MVCS) Symptom Troubleshooting - Multi view camera system does not work/HDS does not communicate with the multi view camera unit (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020)
- DTC check 1
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- PGM-FI system DTCs check
-1. Check for PGM-FI system DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P0A94 Voltage Stabilizer Malfunction Is DTC P0A94 indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting - Refer to: Fuel and Emissions Systems Symptom Troubleshooting Index (2017 2018 2019 2020) , or Fuel and Emissions Systems Symptom Troubleshooting Index (2016) .
NO
Go to step 3.
- Fuse check 1
-1. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. H2 (10 A) Location Auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 4.
NO
Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. H2 (10 A) fuse circuit.
- Fuse check 2
-1. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. H7 (10 A) Location Auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 5.
NO
Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. H7 (10 A) fuse circuit.
- Fuse check 3
-1. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. D24 (7.5 A) Location Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 6.
NO
Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. D24 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.
- DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 check
-1. Remove DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1, and test it.
Is the relay OK?
YES
The relay is OK. Go to step 7.
NO
Replace DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1.
- Open wire check (+B BACK UP (DC/DC) line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Multi view camera unit connector A (20P): disconnected Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 1 - Refer to: Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020) , or Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015 2016) , or Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2016) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The +B BACK UP (DC/DC) wire is OK. Go to step 8.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box.
- Open wire check (IG1 METER (DC/DC) line) 1-1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Multi view camera unit connector A (20P): disconnected Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 2 - Refer to: Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020) , or Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015 2016) , or Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2016) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 13.
NO
Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (IG1 METER (DC/DC) line) 2
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Remove DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1.
- 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Multi view camera unit connector A (20P): disconnected DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1: disconnected Test point 1 Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) No. 2 - Refer to: Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014 2015 2016) , or Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2016) , or Multi View Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020) Test point 2 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 4P socket No. 2 Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 10.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box and the multi view camera unit.
- Open wire check (+B OUT1 line)
-1. Reconnect the following connector.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) - 2. Disconnect the following connector.
DC-DC converter connector B (5P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1: disconnected DC-DC converter connector B (5P): disconnected Test point 1 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 4P socket No. 1 Test point 2 DC-DC converter connector B (5P) No. 3 Is there continuity?
YES
The +B OUT1 wire is OK. Go to step 11.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box and the DC-DC converter.
- Open wire check (IG1 ACG line)
-1. Reconnect the following connector.
DC-DC converter connector B (5P) - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1: disconnected Test point 1 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 4P socket No. 3 Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The IG1 ACG wire is OK. Go to step 12.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 and the No. D24 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1: disconnected Test point 1 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 4P socket No. 4 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
NO
Repair an open in the wire between DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 and body ground at G501.
- Open wire check (SGND lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Repair an open in the wire between the multi view camera unit and the body ground (G402).
- Audio-navigation system check
-1. Reconnect the following connector.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 3. Check for the audio-navigation system.
Does the audio-navigation system operate properly?
YES
Go to step 15.
NO
Go to the audio-navigation system troubleshooting - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015 2016 2017) , or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2018 2019 2020) .
- Body electrical system check
-1. Check the HDS can communicate with the body electrical system.
Does the HDS communicate with the body electrical system?
YES
Go to step 16
NO
Go to the body electrical system general troubleshooting - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Body Electrical (2014 2015) , or How to Troubleshoot the Body Electrical (2017 2018 2019 2020) , or How to Troubleshoot the Body Electrical (2016) . If the symptom is still present, replace the multi view camera unit .
- Open wire check (B-CAN_L, B-CAN_H lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Multi view camera unit connector A (20P) Driver's Under-dash fuse/relay box H connector (13P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
