Adaptive Damper System Symptom Troubleshooting Index

Symptom  Diagnostic procedure  Also check for 
HDS does not communicate with the adaptive damper control unit or the vehicle Troubleshoot the DLC circuit - Refer to: DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2019 - 2021) or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting (2022 - 2023) .  
Adaptive damper system warning does not go off, and no DTCs are stored
NOTE: If any of the CAN communication failure DTC is indicated in other system, troubleshooting the DTC first.
  • Check for open wire or shorted wire in the F-CAN circuit;
    • Between the gauge control module and the CAN gateway (F-CAN D_H, F-CAN D_L)
    • Between the adaptive damper control unit and the CAN gateway (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L)
  • Check the adaptive damper control unit power circuit (+B_ADS, IG1_VSA(VST))
  • Check the adaptive damper control unit ground circuit (GND)
  • Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .
