  1. A.-

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove: 

    Move: 

  2. B.-
    NOTE:

    Do not try to disassemble the tandem motor cylinder except for the reservoir union. Replace the tandem motor cylinder with a new part if necessary.

    Preconditions 

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    2.0 L Engine 

    Remove: 

    Disconnect: 

    • Brake Lines (Pedal Feel Simulator Side)

    3.0 L Engine 

    Remove: 

    Move: 

    Disconnect: 

    • Brake Lines (Pedal Feel Simulator Side)

    Sub-Procedure

    Removal 

    • Refer to the figure.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the pedal feel simulator surfaces and the threads of the booster stud bolts.

    After Installation

    Preconditions 

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    2.0 L Engine 

    Remove: 

    3.0 L Engine 

    Remove: 

    Move:

    After Installation

    Preconditions 

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Move: 

    Sub-Procedure 

    NOTE:

    Be careful not to damage the pedal feel simulator surfaces and the threads of the pedal feel simulator stud bolts.

    Removal 

    Refer to the figure 1 and 2.

    Installation 

    • Install the yoke spring (a) then install the clevis pin (b) and the lock pin (c). (Figure 3 and 4)

    Lubricant Specifications (Figure 4)

    • Install the lock pin as shown. (Figure 5)

    Preconditions 

    Key Information 

    Do the following before starting your work.

    Remove:

    NOTE:
    • Do not damage or drop the VSA modulator-control unit as it is sensitive.
    • Do not use power tools when removing/installing the VSA modulator-control unit.

    Installation 

    • Connect the brake lines according to the following table.

    Assembly Position Details 

    Position Access Point
    a Pedal Feel Simulator
    b Left-Rear Brake
    c Right-Front Brake
    d Left-Front Brake
    e Right-Rear Brake

    After Installation

    Preconditions 

    • Brake Fluid Drained

      NOTE:  Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir with a syringe.
