- Exhaust Mounting Bracket - Refer to: Exhaust Pipe/Muffler Area (2.0L Engine) (2024 2025) or Exhaust Pipe/Muffler Area (1.5L Engine) (Type-S)
- Steering Joint
NOTICE:
Do not turn the steering wheel while disconnecting the steering joint.
NOTE: If the center guide is in place, discard it.

Removal

Be careful not to damage the ball joint boot when installing the ball joint remover . (Figure 1)

3. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe (a). (Figure 3)

4. Raise a transmission jack and line up the slots in the subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the transmission jack base, then securely attach them with four bolts. (Figure 3)

Torque the castle nut to the lower torque specification, then tighten it only far enough to align the slot with the ball joint pin hole. Never loosen the castle nut to align the pin hole.

After Installation
- 12 Volt Battery Terminal Reconnect
- ECU Key Write (When replacing the steering gearbox).
- EPS Control Unit Update - Refer to: Steering Angle Neutral Position Learning or EPS Control Unit Update (When replacing the steering gearbox)
- Check these items:
-
- With the front wheels straight ahead, make sure the steering wheel is centered and the turning revolutions from center to full lock (left and right) is equal. If not, check the installation of the steering wheel and the engagement of the joint/pinion shaft splines.
- With the tires raised off the ground, check for noise and abnormality by turning the steering wheel fully to the right and left several times.
- Check the power steering assist .
- Check that the EPS indicator does not come on.
- Wheel Alignment Check
- VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization - Refer to: VSA Modulator-Control Unit Update or VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization
