EPS Control Unit Inspection
Test Procedure

- Disconnect the 12 volt battery terminals .
- Connect a commercially available digital multimeter (A) to the 12 volt battery positive and negative terminals of the harness side.
Be careful not to touch the terminals connected to the digital multimeter with the terminals of the 12 volt battery.
- Set the digital multimeter to voltage measurement mode, and repeat the process of holding down the brake pedal with pressing the horn switch until the voltage drops below 0.6 V.
- Reconnect the 12 volt battery terminals .
- Start the engine.
- Turn the steering wheel to right or left more than 90 degrees, and then check the EPS indicator.
- Normal Conditions

- EPS indicator is not come on.
Results
- If it is normal, it is intermittent failure due to residual voltage.
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the EPS control unit.
