BOSCH EZ-L Ignition
The following testing specifications should be noted when testing the Milano:
- With the engine at idle, check the primary voltage with an oscilloscope. If voltage is below 295-365 volts, a faulty ignition ECU is indicated.
- To check pulse generator input voltage, back probe terminals 8H and 31D at the advance ECU. Turn ignition on. In excess of 6 volts should be indicated.
- To check the ignition advance ECU, use an oscilloscope, and back probe terminal No. 5 with the engine running. A square sign wave pulse should be displayed. If not, check for an open circuit between the distributor and advance ECU (terminal 7H) and between the advance ECU and ignition ECU (terminals No. 7 and 5).
