Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, create a Vehicle Scan Report and attach it to the repair order.
3. With the scan tool, read the Right Blind Spot Sensor (RBSS) DTCs.
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2.
  No
  - Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
CHECK CAN BUS CIRCUITS BETWEEN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND RIGHT BLIND SPOT SENSOR FOR AN OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the (D157) CAN IHS (+) circuit between the BCM and the RBSS.
3. Measure the resistance of the (D158) CAN IHS (-) circuit between the BCM and the RBSS.
  Is the resistance above 3.0 ohms on either circuit?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the CAN IHS circuit(s) for an open or high resistance.
  No
  - Go to 3.
CHECK BODY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTION
1. Disconnect/reconnect the Body Control Module connectors and check for the presence of loose pins.
  Is there a loose pin or poor connection present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair or replace the wiring connectors as necessary.
  No
  - Go to 4.
CHECK RIGHT BLIND SPOT SENSOR CONNECTION
1. Disconnect/reconnect the Right Blind Spot Sensor connectors and check for the presence of loose pins.
  Is there a loose pin or poor connection present?
  
  Yes
  - Repair or replace the wiring connectors as necessary.
  No
  - Go to 5.
CHECK BODY CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY
1. Check that the Body Control Module power supply is correct?.
  Is the power supply correct?
  
  Yes
  - Go to 6.
  No
  - Repair or replace the related wiring or power supply.
CHECK RIGHT BLIND SPOT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
1. Check that the Right Blind Spot Sensor power supply is correct.
  Is the power supply correct?
  
  Yes
  - Go to 7.
  No
  - Repair or replace the related wiring or power supply.
CHECK RELATED HARNESS CONNECTIONS
1. Disconnect all related BCM and RBSS Module harness connectors.
2. Disconnect all related in-line harness connections (if equipped).
3. Disconnect the related component harness connectors.
4. Inspect harness connectors, component connectors, and all male and female terminals for the following conditions:
  - Proper connector installation.
  - Damaged connector locks.
  - Corrosion.
  - Other signs of water intrusion.
  - Weather seal damage (if equipped).
  - Bent terminals.
  - Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
  - Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
  - Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
  Repair any conditions that are found.
5. Reconnect all BCM and RBSS Module harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
6. Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
7. Reconnect all related component harness connectors. Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
8. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
9. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
10. With the scan tool, read RBSS Module DTCs.
  Did the DTC return?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 8.
  No
  - Perform the Body VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  - Test complete.
CHECK RIGHT BLIND SPOT SENSOR OPERATION
1. Replace the BCM in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
2. Perform the Body VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
4. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
5. With the scan tool, read RBSS Module DTCs.
  Did the DTC return?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Right Blind Spot Sensor in accordance with the Service information. Refer to MODULE, BLIND SPOT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  - Perform the Body VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Test complete.
