Removal And Installation
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the radio display screen. Refer to DISPLAY, RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Remove the Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM) (1b) fasteners (1a). If necessary, release the wire harness retainer (1c) to move the wire harness connector (1d) block for more clearance.
- Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2a, 2b) from the RFHM.
- Remove the RFHM from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
- Inspect the RFHM and wire harness connector integrity.
- Connect the wire harness connectors (1a, 1b) to the RFHM.
- Position the RFHM (2) for installation.
- Install and securely tighten the fasteners (3) to secure the RFHM to the vehicle.
- Secure the wire harness connector (4a) to the wire harness retainer (4b).
- Install the radio display screen. Refer to DISPLAY, RADIO, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
