Cruise Control Systems: Operation

The cruise control system is operated by sliding switch and "SET" button at end of turn signal/headlight dimmer switch lever. Placing switch in the "ON" position activates the cruise control system.

To engage system, accelerate vehicle to desired speed and press "SET" button. This procedure sets cruising speed and stores it in memory. If button is pressed once more, the vehicle accelerates until the button is released.

If vehicle is accelerated, the previously programmed speed will be resumed automatically when the accelerator pedal is released. The cruise control system is temporarily disengaged when brake or clutch pedal is depressed or when vehicle speed drops considerably below programmed speed.

To re-engage system, slide switch to "RES" (resume) position and the vehicle will automatically accelerate to the previously programmed speed. A programmed speed can be erased from cruise control memory by sliding switch to the "OFF" position. A programmed speed is always erased as soon as the ignition switch is turned off.

NOTE: When cruise control system is switched on, DO NOT shift into Neutral. The engine will rev up suddenly and may be damaged.
