System uses single Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which controls fuel delivery, ignition system and operation of emission control components. System has self-diagnostic capabilities and input signals from various sensors, switches and signaling devices are constantly monitored for faults. These faults are stored in memory and can be displayed by a flashing 4-digit code sequence from the "FAULT INDICATOR LIGHT" (FIL), located in instrument cluster.
