Throttle Switches
Idle switch and full throttle switch provide throttle position data to ECU or FICU and ICU (depending on particular system). Throttle switches are located on throttle body.
Idle switch is closed when throttle plates are closed and opens when throttle opens approximately one degree. Idle switch signal determines operation of stabilizer valve, deceleration fuel shutoff and activation of ignition timing map. ICU and FICU also use data from throttle switches to check operation of air sensor potentiometer.
Full throttle switch closes at about 10 degrees before full throttle. Full throttle switch signal determines full throttle enrichment and activation of timing map for full engine load.
