WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 1993 Audi 90, 1993 Audi 100, 1992 Audi 100, 1991 Audi 90, and 1991 Audi 80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Peel back ECU connector boot. Attach voltmeter positive lead to ECU terminal No. 7. Connect negative lead to a good ground. Start engine and check for steady voltage increase as RPM is increased.
- If engine does not run, check engine speed sensors. If engine runs but voltage does not increase, replace ECU. If voltage increases but vehicle tachometer does not respond, check wiring between ECU terminal No. 7 and tachometer. If wiring is okay, repair or replace tachometer.
