Function 04 - Basic Setting: Notes

Enter BASIC SETTING function when instructed to by DTC testing procedure. BASIC SETTING function is used to:

• Adapt kick down function of accelerator pedal to ECM (vehicles with automatic transmissions).
• Adaptation of oxygen sensor control.
• Adapt throttle valve control module to ECM.

Before entering BASIC SETTING function. Ensure that no DTCs are stored in memory. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . Run engine until coolant temperature is 176° F (80° C) or more. A/C is switch off. Transaxle is in Park or Neutral. Connect VAS 5051 or equivalent scan tool to DLC. DLC is located behind cover under left side of steering column. Using VAS 5051, from SELECTION 1 click on function "04" BASIC SETTING. Follow scan tool instructions to enter BASIC SETTING function. After last adaptation procedure is complete, end function "04 - BASIC SETTING" by pressing "back arrow" button on scan tool.
