DTC P1136/17544: Oxygen Sensor Bank 1, Mixture Adaptation (Additive System) Too Lean, DTC P1137/17545: Oxygen Sensor Bank 1, Mixture Adaptation Mixture Adaptation (Additive System) Too Rich, DTC P1138/17546: Oxygen Sensor Bank 2, Mixture Adaptation (Additive) System Too Lean &/Or DTC P1139/17547: Oxygen Sensor Bank 2, Mixture Adaptation (Additive) System Too Lean
NOTE:
For these DTCs, ECM does not illuminate Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) unless malfunction is recognized after 2 consecutive ignition cycles.
NOTE:
Additive indicates that malfunction is valid only at closed throttle.
If scan tool displays DTC P1136/17544, P1137/17545, P1138/17546 or P1139/17547 perform following tests:
- Check for fuel in crankcase. Change engine oil as necessary.
- Check fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.
- Check MAF sensor. For diagnostic procedure, go to DTC P0101/16485, P0102/16486 OR P0103/16487 .
- Check heated oxygen sensor before catalytic converter operation. For diagnostic procedure, go to DTC P0130/16514, P0131/16515, P0132/16516, P0133/16517, P0134/16518 .
- Check oxygen sensor after catalytic converter operation. For diagnostic procedure, go to DTC P0136/16520, P0137/16521, P0138/16522, P0139/16522, OR P0140/16524 .
- Check Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve. For diagnostic procedure, go to DTC P0442/16826, P0455/16839 OR P0456/16840 .
If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repairs, use scan tool to clear DTCs and generate a ECM readiness code. See FUNCTION 05 - CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and READINESS CODE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Test drive vehicle. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If DTC does not reset testing is complete.
