Windshield Wiper Motor and Control Module, Replacing
Procedure
- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions".
- Select the function or path:

- Follow further instructions on display of VAS 5051B.
- Remove the windshield wiper motor → Windshield Wiper Motor and Control Module, Removing and Installing .
- Remove nut - 2 - and detach crank from wiper motor.
- Remove wiper motor from wiper frame - arrows -.
- Secure the new wiper motor without the crank on the wiper frame - arrows -.
- Connect electrical connector.
- Switch on ignition.
- Perform next program step in "Guided Functions".
NOTE:
- The "Replace" function in "Guided Functions" switches the wiper motor alternating park position off. The wiper motor then runs always to the "lower" park position which is the one for adjustment.
- Activate "one-touch wiping" and let wiper motor run to end position.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Install crank - 2 - with drive rod - 1 - loosely in position on wiper shaft.
- Align crank with wiper frame.
- Crank must be positioned between marks - arrows -.
- Hold crank in position with open-ended wrench and tighten nut - 3 -.
- Switch on ignition.
- Activate "one-touch wiping" and let wiper motor run to end position.
- Check whether crank is positioned between marks and re-align if necessary.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Install the windshield wiper motor → Windshield Wiper Motor and Control Module, Removing and Installing .
