Operation 1: Checking Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory

Test conditions: 

• Engine stopped, ignition switched on

• Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051. Go to VAS 5051 VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS . Select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" in selection. Ignition must be switched on.

• Under -1- select diagnostic function "02 - Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory".

1. - Content of the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory:
   • 0 DTCs recognized

   or

   • X DTCs recognized
2. - DTCs
   • DTC code
   • DTC location
   • DTC type

If a DTC is stored:

• Repair DTC and erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory. Perform a road test and check DTC memory again.

If no DTC is stored:

• Press < button.
• Perform next operation.
