Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module, Removing and Installing
- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions".
Removing
- Remove Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM) → Steering Column Switch Module, Removing and Installing .
NOTE:
- Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing coil connector with slip ring.
- Carefully release catches - arrows -.
- Pull return spring with slip ring - 2 - with Steering Angle Sensor G85 - item 1 - off from steering column switch module (SCSM).

- Remove screws - arrows -.
- Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 - item 1 - from steering column switch module.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
- Make sure all fasteners and electrical connectors are properly engaged.
- Install Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM) → Steering Column Switch Module, Removing and Installing .
If Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 was replaced, it must be coded.
