Glow Plugs, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Remove the engine cover, refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect glow plug connectors from glow plugs.

-- Clean the glow plug duct so that no dirt can get into the cylinder.

-- Clean the glow plug duct in the cylinder head. Contaminants must not enter the cylinder.

NOTE:

Example for cleaning: 

Extract large contaminants with a vacuum cleaner.

Spray a brake cleaner or a suitable cleaner into the glow plug shaft, let it work and then use compressed air to remove it.

Then clean the glow plug duct with a cloth dampened with oil.

WARNING:

Danger of eye injury.

  • Wear protective eyewear.

-- Loosen the glow plugs using the Glow Plug Socket :3220  .

-- Then carefully remove the glow plug by hand or with a hose without tilting it.
