Windshield Wiper Motor And Wiper Motor Control Module, Changing

-- If the control module was replaced, select the replace function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" , refer to the vehicle diagnostic tester.
-- Select the function or path:

-- Follow the instructions on the vehicle diagnosis tester display.
-- Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor -V- WITH Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- .
-- Pry off wiper linkage -1- from ball head -arrow-.
-- Remove nut -2- and remove crank -1- from wiper motor.
-- Remove wiper motor from wiper frame -arrows-.
-- Bolt wiper motor without crank onto wiper frame -arrows-.
-- Connect electrical connector.
-- Switch on ignition.
-- Perform next program step in "Guided Functions ", refer to the vehicle diagnostic tester.
The replace function in guided functions for example switches off the alternating park position of the wiper motor. The wiper motor then runs always to the lower park position which is the one for adjustment.
-- Activate one-touch wiping and let wiper motor run to end position.
-- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
-- Align crank -1- toward wiper frame.
- Dimension -a- = 10.6 0.6 mm.
-- Keep crank in position and hand-tighten nut -2- in order to maintain this position.
-- Then, hold crank in position using an open-end wrench and tighten nut.
-- Switch on ignition.
-- Activate one-touch wiping and let wiper motor run to end position.
-- Check if dimension -a- is reached; align again if necessary.
-- Install the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor -V- WITH Wiper Motor Control Module -J400- .
