Transmission Control Module, Replacing
NOTE:
- Country-specific laws make adaptation of the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to the vehicle necessary. This "writing" function is not possible with the generic scan tool, therefore it is necessary to use the Vehicle Diagnosis Service Syst. VAS5052 in On Board Diagnostic (OBD) function for this purpose.
- Procedure to replace Transmission Control Module (TCM): → 38 - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GEARS, HYDRAULIC CONTROLS for 6 SPD. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 09E ALL WHEEL DRIVE or 38 - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GEARS, HYDRAULIC CONTROLS for 6 SPD. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 09L ALL WHEEL DRIVE
Final procedures
After connecting harness connectors to control module, the following work steps must be performed in the mentioned sequence:
1 - Check DTC memory → " "Mode 3: Check DTC memory".
2 - If necessary, erase DTC memory → "Mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data" , → Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory .
3 - If DTC memory was erased, generate readiness code → → Readiness Code, Generating .
- End diagnosis and switch ignition off.
