Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level

COLD FLUID 

-- With the engine OFF, move the front wheels into the straight ahead position.

-- Remove reservoir cap -arrow- with integrated dipstick.

-- Clean the dipstick with a clean cloth.

-- Install the cap on hand-tight and remove it again.

CAUTION:

Screw cap fully in to get an accurate fluid level reading.

-- Check the power steering fluid level: the fluid level must be in area of MIN mark (up to 2 mm above or below mark).

NOTE:

If the fluid level is above the specified range, then some fluid must be extracted.

If the fluid level is below the specified level, check the hydraulic system for leaks (repair measure). It is not sufficient just to add fluid.

If no leaks are detected, top off with Power Steering Fluid -G 004 000-.

-- Screw In Cap Hand Tight. 

Warm Power Steering Fluid, 50 °C (122 °F) or Higher

-- With the engine OFF, move the front wheels into the straight ahead position.

-- Unscrew reservoir cap -arrow- with fitted dipstick.

-- Clean the dipstick with a clean cloth.

-- Install the cap on hand-tight and remove it again.

CAUTION:

Screw cap fully in to get an accurate fluid level reading.

-- Check the fluid level: the fluid level must be between the MIN and MAX markings.

NOTE:

If oil level is above MAX. marking, oil must be extracted.

If the fluid level is below the MIN mark, check the hydraulic system for leaks (repair procedure). It is not sufficient just to add fluid. If no leaks are detected, top off with Power Steering Fluid -G 004 000-.

-- Screw in cap hand tight.
