Selector Lever Handle Locking Button, Bringing Into Installation Position

- Locking Button Removal Tool: T40203
Procedure
- The locking button -2- projects out in its installation position in the handle.
If the locking button was pressed in, then it must be brought back to it installation position so that the handle can be installed.
-- Carefully install the Locking Button Removal Tool: T40203 all the way into the selector lever handle -1- -arrow-.
The selector lever handle is shown without the selector lever boot. The selector lever boot cannot be remove from the handle.
- The cut-out on the Locking Button Removal Tool: T40203 faces the locking button and the hook toward the left.
-- Hold the handle -A- tighten and turn the Locking Button Removal Tool: T40203 180° in direction of -arrow 1-.
-- Hold the selector lever handle tight and carefully remove the Locking Button Removal Tool: T40203 -arrow 2-.
- While the Locking Button Removal Tool: T40203
is being removed, the locking button -A - on the handle will be pushed out and will lock.
- Do not touch the locking button selector one lever handle anymore before installing, so that the button does not fall back in.
As an alternative, move the handle with an assembly fastener into the installation position:
Make sure the assembly fastener has an eye -arrow- at the front. Other assembly fasteners cannot be used.
-- Press the button and push the assembly fastener (with the eye) -arrow- all the way in until it latches into place. Then release the button. The button locks into the installation position when the assembly fastener is pulled out.
