Tunnel CROSSMEMBER, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 6-Cylinder Engine: Removing

-- Remove the rear noise insulation -2-. Refer to Noise Insulation, Removing and Installing .

-- Remove the left front muffler. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS .

Vehicles with a 3.0L TDI Engine

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the front exhaust pipe.

-- Mount the Engine/Gearbox Jack - Gearbox Support:T10337  on the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS6931  and attach it under the transmission.

-- Raise the transmission slightly.

-- Remove the bolt -3- and free up the front emergency release cable on the tunnel crossmember.
