Overview - Ignition System

1. Bolt
   • 9 Nm
2. Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor -G265-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor -G265-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • After removing or replacing, perform the adaptation using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester , 0001 - Engine electronics, functions  , 0001 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation 
3. O-Ring
   • Replace if damaged or leaking, if not available separately, then replace entire component
   • Coat with clean engine oil
4. O-Ring
   • Replace if damaged or leaking, if not available separately, then replace entire component
   • Coat with clean engine oil
5. Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • After removing or replacing, perform the adaptation using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester , 0001 - Engine electronics, functions  , 0001 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation 
6. Bolt
   • 9 Nm
7. O-Ring
   • Replace if damaged or leaking, if not available separately, then replace entire component
   • Coat with clean engine oil
8. Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300-
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
   • After removing or replacing, perform the adaptation using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester , 0001 - Engine electronics, functions  , 0001 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation

    • 5 Nm
13. Ignition Coil
    • Ignition Coil 1 with Power Output Stage -N70-
    • Ignition Coil 2 with Power Output Stage -N127-
    • Ignition Coil 3 with Power Output Stage -N291-
    • Ignition Coil 4 with Power Output Stage -N292-
    • Ignition Coil 5 with Power Output Stage -N323-
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to IGNITION COILS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
14. Spark Plug
    • 30 Nm
15. Bolt
    • 20 Nm
    • Tightening specifications affect the function of the knock sensor
16. Knock Sensor 1 -G61-
    • The contact surfaces between the knock sensor and cylinder block must be free of corrosion, dirt and grease.
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to Knock Sensor 1 -G61-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
17. Bolt
    • 20 Nm
    • Tightening specifications affect the function of the knock sensor
18. Knock Sensor 2 -G66-
    • The contact surfaces between the knock sensor and cylinder block must be free of corrosion, dirt and grease.
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to Knock Sensor 1 -G61-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
19. Engine Speed Sensor -G28-
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to Engine Speed Sensor -G28-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
    • After removing or replacing, perform the adaptation using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester , 0001 - Engine electronics, functions  , 0001 - Chain length diagnostic adaptation 
20. Bolt
    • 5 Nm
    • Not available separately, included in the delivery package -item  19-

Knock Sensor Heat Shield - Tightening Specification

Tighten the bolts -arrows- to 9 Nm.
