Transmission Fluid Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Replace the bolts for the transmission fluid pump and for the transmission fluid pump cover.

-- Replace the gasket -B- and cover for the transmission fluid pump.

-- Check whether the alignment pins -C- are inserted in the transmission housing.

-- Slide the transmission fluid pump input shaft -A- all the way into the transmission by turning the input shaft slightly.

-- If there are metal shavings on the sensor wheel -B-, remove them. The sensor wheel must not be demagnetized.

-- Remove the paper gasket between the transmission fluid pump and the transmission.

-- Remove the rest of the paper gasket and clean the inside of the transmission.

-- Clean the sealing surfaces; they must be free from oil or grease.

-- Insert a new paper gasket between the transmission fluid pump and the transmission. Mount with transmission fluid if necessary.

-- Place the transmission fluid pump on the input shaft and tighten. Refer to Figure.

-- Clean the sealing surface for the transmission fluid pump cover on the transmission housing.

-- Position the transmission fluid pump cover -A- and tighten. Refer to Figure.

-- Fill with transmission fluid (refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING ) and check the transmission fluid level (refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING ).
