Transmission Fluid Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Replace the bolts for the transmission fluid pump and for the transmission fluid pump cover.
-- Replace the gasket -B- and cover for the transmission fluid pump.
-- Check whether the alignment pins -C- are inserted in the transmission housing.
-- Slide the transmission fluid pump input shaft -A- all the way into the transmission by turning the input shaft slightly.
- If the transmission fluid pump input shaft -A- is inserted correctly, the dimension -a- is approximately 23 mm.
-- If there are metal shavings on the sensor wheel -B-, remove them. The sensor wheel must not be demagnetized.
-- Remove the paper gasket between the transmission fluid pump and the transmission.
-- Remove the rest of the paper gasket and clean the inside of the transmission.
-- Clean the sealing surfaces; they must be free from oil or grease.
-- Insert a new paper gasket between the transmission fluid pump and the transmission. Mount with transmission fluid if necessary.
-- Place the transmission fluid pump on the input shaft and tighten. Refer to Figure.
-- Clean the sealing surface for the transmission fluid pump cover on the transmission housing.
-- Position the transmission fluid pump cover -A- and tighten. Refer to Figure.
-- Fill with transmission fluid (refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING ) and check the transmission fluid level (refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING ).
