6.2.4 Baseplate for Distance Regulation Control Module - J428-, Removing and Installing, Version 2 from MY 2017

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

NOTE:
  • Replace the quick release.
  • The stud bolts in the adapter frame are pre-set. If necessary, correct the setting.
    • Place the control module on a soft and clean surface.
    • Measure the dimension -a- at the upper stud bolt using the - VAS6335- and correct if necessary.
    • Dimension -a- = 40.25 ± 0.5 mm

    • Measure the dimension -a- at the lower stud bolt using the - VAS6335- and correct if necessary.
    • Dimension -a- = 38.2 ± 0.5 mm

  • Position the retaining plate -3- onto the distance regulation control module -1-.
  • Carefully press the new quick release -4- onto the stud bolt -2-.
  • Turn the quick release clockwise onto the retaining plate to the stop -arrow-.
