6.2.1 Distance Regulation Control Modules - J428-/-J850-, Removing and Installing
If replacing the control module, select the "Replace control module" function for the corresponding control module on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing
- Remove the air intake grille. Refer to → Front Bumper
- Remove the bolts -2, 4 and 7-.
- Tilt the retaining plate -3- forward at the bottom in direction of -arrow A- until the guide pin -6- is free.
- Then remove the retaining plate downward from the guides -5- in direction of -arrow B-.
- Clean and dry the area around the control module connector.
- Disconnect the connector -1-.
- Remove the retaining plate with the distance regulation control module.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
- Check the connector for damage, contact corrosion and water ingress, and service if necessary. Refer to → Wring Harness and Connector Repair
- Calibrate the adaptive cruise control (ACC). Refer to → Adaptive Cruise Control
Tightening Specifications
