Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- For A/C System Control And Regulation
For these vehicles (For example the Audi A4) there are different versions of the heating and A/C system depending on the equipment. Make sure to use the correct version and pay attention to the allocation of different components. Refer to HEATING AND A/C SYSTEM VERSIONS and Parts Information.
Pressing the buttons on the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- or the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- for an extended period of time (due to an object lying on them, for example), can result in a fault being stored in the DTC memory of the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- that indicates there are stuck buttons. If necessary, check the function of the buttons and erase the DTC memory if no malfunction is found.
There are different versions of the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- -A-. For this reason pay attention to the correct allocation when replacing a Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- (only vehicles with a "High" A/C system).
For the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265-, the "component protection" function is currently not active (introduction of this function is not yet finalized). Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function (for the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87-).
The LEDs in the various buttons of the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- turn on when functions are selected.
The display fields and control buttons of the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- are illuminated by LEDs (these LEDs cannot be replaced).
If a new Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- is installed and the basic setting for the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- is not performed (only on vehicles with a "High" A/C system) the regulation of the A/C system is restricted and it is displayed in the DTC memory of the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- as a fault (for the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- currently no direct OBD is available). Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
After replacing the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- and/or the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265-, always perform the basic setting, check the adaptation and check the heating and A/C system DTC memory. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
Certain heating and A/C system functions can be switched on and off via the MMI (Multi Media Interface) in the "A/C system" function under the "Car" / "Vehicle" menu. The heating and A/C system control can also be influenced via the presets in the MMI (Multi Media Interface) under the "A/C system" function in the "Car" / "Vehicle" menu. Therefore, check the preset in the MMI first in the case there is a concern with these components. Refer to Infotainment/MMI Owner's Manual.
At the start of production a Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265- -A- was only installed on vehicles with a "High" A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function and
This illustration shows the versions of the Rear A/C Display Control Head -E265-, with buttons for activating the rear seat heating. Ensure the correct allocation to the vehicle and to the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87-. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function and
