ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
The hydraulic unit may not be sufficiently filled or adequately bled if the plugs are removed. Brake fluid may leak out.
- Do not remove plugs on the new hydraulic unit until the corresponding brake line is about to be installed.
When installing the hydraulic unit, make sure that the rubber bushings are not pushed out of the bracket.
-- Make sure that the rubber bushings -3- are positioned correctly.
-- Before assembling the holder for the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- in the bracket, spray the rubber bushings with Silicone Lubricant Spray: D 007 000 A2 .
-- Make sure that the bracket -1- is seated correctly in the guide -arrow-. Tighten the bolt -4-.
-- Carefully push the hydraulic unit -1- onto the pins on the bracket -3-.
-- Make sure the rubber bushings and hydraulic unit are seated correctly.
-- Install the brake lines carefully with the : VAG1410/8 .
Brake Line Tightening Sequence:
-- Pre-tighten the brake lines in the sequence -1 to 4-.
-- Tighten the brake lines in the sequence -1 through 4-.
-- Pre-tighten the brake lines in the sequence -A to B-.
-- Tighten the brake lines in the sequence -A through B-.
-- Remove the : VAG1869/2 .
-- Bleed the brake system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .
-- Code the ABS Control Module -J104- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. A basic setting must be performed at the same time.
Special Tool Assembly for Tightening the Brake Lines
Faulty brakes increase the risk of an accident.
- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
