6.2.5 Distance Regulation Control Module - J428- Retaining Plate, Removing and Installing, Version 3
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Digital Caliper - VAS6335-
Removing
- Remove the distance regulation control module. Refer to 6.2.1 Distance Regulation Control Module - J428-, Removing and Installing .
- Remove the drain plug -2-.
- Open the tabs in direction of -arrows-.
- Remove the cover -1- from the Distance Regulation Control Module - J428- -3-.
- Place the control module on a soft and clean surface.
- Remove the stud bolts -arrows- alternating.
- Remove the retaining plate -2- from the Distance Regulation Control Module - J428- -1-.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while paying attention to the following:
NOTE:
If the same distance regulation control module is reinstalled the clips on the distance regulation control module must be replaced. Refer to 6.2.8 Clip on Distance Regulation Control Module - J428-, Replacing, Version 3
.
- Install the retaining plate with the stud bolt on the control module.
- The stud bolt must be aligned correctly to the clip.
- Turn the stud bolt into the distance regulation control module up to the dimension -a-.
- Measure the dimension -a- at all stud bolts using the digital caliper -VAS6335- and correct if necessary.
- Dimension -a- = 41.8 mm.
- Pay attention that the shank -1- on the caliper when measuring the radar eye -2- does not contact it.
