Left Footwell Vent

Left Instrument Panel Vent
- Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR ROUTING AND AIR DISTRIBUTION IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT .
Left Instrument Panel Side Vent
- Sealing plugs instead of vent temperature sensor on vehicles with heater or manually regulated A/C system
- A loose or missing sealing plug or an incorrectly installed vent temperature sensor causes flow-generated noise.

Left Vent Temperature Sensor -G150-
- Only on vehicles with an automatic climate control system
- To check, use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.
- An incorrectly installed vent temperature sensor causes flow-generated noise
- Removing and Installing. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT VENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR -G150- / -G151-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Left Instrument Panel Center Vent
- Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - AIR ROUTING AND AIR DISTRIBUTION IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT .
A/C System Control Head
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.
  - A/C Control Module -J301- for manually regulated A/C system
  - Climatronic Control Module -J255- for automatically regulated A/C system
- To check, use the : Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to Heater Control Module -J65- /A/C Control Module -J301- /Climatronic Control Module -J255-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
  NOTE:
  If there is no Humidity Sensor -G355- installed on vehicles with a A/C Control Module -J301-, a permissible stop time is currently calculated by characteristics curves which are influenced by the measured outside air temperature, the "recirculated-air mode" function and operating status of the windshield wipers. The calculated time must be greater than 20 seconds so that the stop function is permitted by the A/C Control Module -J301-. The stop time can be shortened at a lower exterior temperature, when the recirculating air mode is active and/or when it is raining to prevent the windshield and door windows from fogging up. If the calculated time for the Stop function is less than approximately 20 seconds, it is prevented.
  
  An neck heating is offered as optional equipment for the A3 Cabrio. For vehicles with a neck heating, there is an additional vent installed in the seat, and in the Climatronic Control Module -J255- A/C control head, there are additional buttons to switch the neck heating on and off.   There are different versions of the Climatronic Control Module -J255- for vehicles with or without a high-voltage system. For vehicles with a high-voltage system, there are different versions, for example on vehicles for Europe and the North American Region.
Infrared Sensor
- For determining the temperature in the vehicle interior
- Only for an automatic climate control system; integrated in the Climatronic Control Module -J255- control head
- A dirty infrared sensor leads to problems regulating the A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
Heater and A/C Unit, Left Side

Condensation Water Drain

Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G192-
- To check, use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.

Left Front Seat
- Equipment version with seat heating
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts Information.

- Check the activation and function of the seat heating using the : Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in "Guided Fault Finding" function and refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.
