1. ABS Control Module -J104-
   • The ABS Control Module -J104- can be replaced separately if faulty.
   • A faulty ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- must be replaced together with the ABS Control Module -J104-
   • Refer to ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 
   • Refer to CONTROL MODULE, SEPARATING FROM HYDRAULIC UNIT 
   • Refer to CONTROL MODULE, INSTALLING ON HYDRAULIC UNIT 
2. ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-
   • The ABS Control Module -J104- can be replaced separately if faulty.
   • A faulty ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- must be replaced together with the ABS Control Module -J104-
   • Refer to ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 
3. Bolt
   • Tightening Specifications
     • Step 1: 1 to 1.5 Nm (to position the seal)
     • Step 2: 2.5 Nm
   • Replace after removing.
4. Brake Line
   • Tightening Specifications
     • With standard tool: 14 Nm
     • With special tool. Refer to Fig 2 12 Nm
   • Replace a damaged or bent brake line
   • To the right rear brake caliper
   • License plate: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with M12x1 thread
   • Do not change the bending shape.
5. Brake Line
   • Tightening Specifications
     • With standard tool: 14 Nm
     • With special tool. Refer to Fig 2 12 Nm
   • Replace a damaged or bent brake line
   • To the left front brake caliper
   • License plate: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with M12x1 thread
   • Do not change the bending shape.
6. Brake Line
   • Tightening Specifications
     • With standard tool: 14 Nm
     • With special tool. Refer to Fig 2 12 Nm
   • To the right front brake caliper
   • License plate: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with M12x1 thread
   • Do not change the bending shape.
   • Replace a damaged or bent brake line
7. Brake Line
   • Tightening Specifications
     • With standard tool: 14 Nm
     • With special tool. Refer to Fig 2 12 Nm
   • Replace a damaged or bent brake line
   • To the left rear brake caliper
   • License plate: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with M12x1 thread
   • Do not change the bending shape.
8. Brake Line
   • Tightening Specifications
     • With standard tool: 14 Nm
     • With special tool. Refer to Fig 2 12 Nm
   • Replace a damaged or bent brake line
   • For brake master cylinder/primary piston circuit to hydraulic unit
   • License plate: 6 mm diameter and union bolt with M12x1 thread
   • Do not change the bending shape.
9. Brake Line
   • Tightening Specifications
     • With standard tool: 14 Nm
     • With special tool. Refer to Fig 2 12 Nm
   • Replace a damaged or bent brake line
   • From brake master cylinder/secondary piston circuit to hydraulic unit
   • License plate: 6 mm diameter and union bolt with M12x1 thread
   • Do not change the bending shape.
10. Brake Booster
    • Refer to OVERVIEW - BRAKE BOOSTER/BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
11. Mounting Bracket
12. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
13. Rubber Bushing
14. Heat Shield
    • Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
15. Nut
    • 20 Nm
16. Bracket
17. Nut
    • 20 Nm

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Open Ring Spanner Insert - AF 11mm: VAG1410/6 
• Torque Wrench - Universal Joint : VAG1410/7 
• Mini Torque Wrench: VAS6854
