ABS Control Module -J104- WITH ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:
Do not bend the brake lines past their form or damage them.
A bent or damaged brake line must be replaced.
SQ-5 models:
-- Connect the pressure pipe to the throttle valve.
Pay attention that the seal between the pressure pipe and the throttle valve is installed.
Connect the pressure pipe to the throttle valve securely using hose clamps.
The pressure pipe is correctly connected, when the engine does not have output.
-- Install the bracket for the engine control module.
-- Press the engine control module in the retainer.
-- Install the coolant expansion tank.
For all vehicles:
- Tightening Specifications
During service, the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- is filled with brake fluid.
Only remove the plug from the new ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- when the corresponding brake line is installed.
If the plugs are removed from the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- before the corresponding brake line is installed, brake fluid will leak out. If that is the case, sufficient brake system bleeding can no longer be ensured.
All the rubber buffers must be inserted in the bracket.
-- Push the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- with the ABS Control Module -J104- downward into the bracket in the vehicle.
When pressing the ESP control unit into the bracket, counterhold the rubber buffers so they do not fall through.
-- Connect the brake lines according to the label.
If the brake line connectors are replaced, an ABS/ESP system malfunction will register.
Do not bend the brake lines past their form or damage them.
A bent or damaged brake line must be replaced.
-- Install all brake lines -arrow- by hand on the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-.
-- Tighten all brake lines -arrow- on the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-.
-- After securing the brake lines on the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, the output diagnostic test mode must be performed.
Performing the output diagnostic test mode can determine if the connections were switched.
-- Connect the connector to the ABS Control Module -J104-.
-- Press the locking bracket down until it engages audibly.
-- Press the securing clip -1- down and engage it.
-- Remove the :VAG1869/2 .
-- Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING
-- If the ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- is being replaced, select the "Replace" function for the ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- in "Guided Functions" on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Then perform the ESP driving and system test.
Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
