A/C System Heating Output And Temperature Control Door Activation, Checking: Notes
The test requirements are met. Refer to TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR HEATING OUTPUT AND ACTIVATION OF A/C SYSTEM TEMPERATURE CONTROL DOORS .
Checking:
- Close the doors, the engine hood, the windows, the sliding sunroof and the rear lid.
- Switch on the ignition and initiate ready mode.
- Start the engine, the engine may start automatically if necessary (for vehicles with Start/Stop System).
Set the following on the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- or Front Information Display Control Head 2 -J1060- :
- On the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- or Front Information Display Control Head 2 -J1060- set the SYNC function button:
- Select "Auto" mode for the driver side (and the front passenger side) (the indicator lamp in the AUTO button(s) illuminate).
- Adjust the temperature preset for all zones (front and rear) "warm" ("HIGH" display).
- Preset for fresh air blower (front and rear) "maximum speed".
- Set the airflow direction on the driver and front passenger side, at the "footwell" and "instrument panel vents" (view in display).
- Adjust the airflow direction at the Rear A/C Display Control Head - E265- for the left and right side, at the "footwell" and "vents in the B-pillar".
-- Initiate Guided Fault Finding for the front A/C system and select the "Read measured values" function. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Compare the measured values for the Left Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G385-, the Right Front Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor - G386-, the Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor - G261-, the Right Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G262- and any of the following measured values depending on vehicle equipment.
- PR number. KH5: Rear Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G537-
- PR number. 9AH: for the Left Rear Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G635-, Right Rear Upper Body Vent Temperature Sensor -G636-, Left Rear Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G637- and the Right Rear Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G638-.
The required values are achieved at all temperature sensors:
-- Heating output is OK. Check the DTC memory of the Front A/C Display Control Head -E87- or Front Information Display Control Head 2 -J1060- again.
The required values of the temperature sensor deviate:
- The specified values are not reached on any temperature sensor. Refer to Check the heating output of the A/C system .
- The specified values are not reached at only one or two temperature sensors. Refer to Check the activation and function of the various .
