Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

A4, A5 Coupe and A5 Sportback: 

-- Loosen the left luggage compartment side trim panel at the bottom:

• A4 Sedan, A5 Coupe, A5 Sportback: remove the tie downs. Refer to TIE DOWN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
• A4 Avant: remove the luggage compartment floor support. Refer to OVERVIEW - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL .

A5 Cabriolet: 

-- Remove relay and fuse panel 2. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - RELAY PANELS, FUSE PANELS AND E-BOXES .

Continuation: 

-- Open the cover for the left luggage compartment side trim panel.

-- Release the retainer -1-.

-- Remove the bracket -2- for the control modules upward in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the nut -3-.

-- Release the retainer in direction of -A arrow-.

-- Remove the mount -1- upward.

-- Release the retainer in direction of -arrow B- and remove the guide -4- from the body in direction of -arrow C-.

-- Remove the bracket -2- for the central control module.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1, 2, 3, 4 and 6-.

-- Release the retainers in direction of -arrows- and guide the central control module -5- out of the mount.
