Front Door Shell Assembly Overview: Notes
- Do not re-use fasteners that are worn or deformed in normal use.
- Some fasteners are designed to be used only once, and are unreliable and may fail if used a second time. This includes, but is not limited to, nuts, bolts, washers, circlips and cotter pins. Always follow recommendations in this service information-replace these fasteners with new parts where indicated, and any other time it is deemed necessary by inspection.
- Window Slot Seal
- Removing and installing, refer to WINDOW SLOT SEAL .
- Door Component Carrier
Removing:
-- Remove front door trim panel, refer to FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
-- Unclip release cable for door remote control from clip
-- On vehicles with power windows and/or adjustable outside mirror, unplug connectors.
-- Unscrew bolts FRONT DOOR SHELL ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW => List Item: Bolt and lift out support upward.
Installing:
-- Install all components in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
-- Adjust door component carrier. Refer to DOOR COMPONENT CARRIER, ADJUSTING .
-- After installing carrier, always check upper stop for door window and adjust if necessary.

- Lubricate new parts, grease points. Refer to Fig. 1 Lower Door Hinge - Lubrication Points .

- Removing:
-- Unplug connectors
-- Remove hose for central door locking at door lock and unclip
-- Unscrew bolts FRONT DOOR SHELL ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW => List Item: Bolt and FRONT DOOR SHELL ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW => List Item: Bolt
- Adjust door shell DOORS, ADJUSTING
- Removing:
- Bolt head cap
- Bolt
- 8.0 Nm
- Bolt
- 30 Nm
- Impact bar
- Grommet
