Engine, Supporting In Installation Position

-- If this is unsuccessful, make a 11 mm diameter hole in both Engine Support Bridge - Engine Bracket: 10-222A/1 .

Dimension -a- = 30 mm

Procedure

Transmission and tunnel crossmember removed.

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right headlamp cover. Refer to HEADLAMP COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the upper reinforcement brace. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .

CAUTION:

Risk of injury due to the engine weight shifting.

The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.

- Only support the engine when the transmission and tunnel crossmember are removed.

-- Position the engine support as follows on the left and right on the longitudinal member.

-- Tighten the Engine Support Bridge - Adapters: 10-222A/34 on the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Bracket: 10-222A/1 with the nuts -arrows-. At the same time, the adapter must engage in the longitudinal member.

-- Engage the Engine Support Bridge - Additional Hooks (2 pc.): 10-222A/2 on the engine lifting eyes and the Engine Support Bridge - Spindle: 10-222A/11 .

-- Slightly pretension the engine with the spindle, do not lift.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install the headlamp covers. Refer to HEADLAMP COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Tightening Specifications

Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .
