ABS Control Module -J104- /ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Only remove the plugs on the new hydraulic unit if the corresponding brake line is installed.
- If the plugs are removed too early from the hydraulic unit, brake fluid can escape and the unit may not be sufficiently filled or adequately bled.
-- Before assembling the holder for the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- in the bracket, coat the rubber bushings -3- with a Special Lubricant.
-- Make sure that the bracket -1- is seated correctly in the guide -arrow-. Tighten the bolt -4-.
-- Press the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- -item 1- carefully on the pins on the bracket -4-.
- The hydraulic control module must rest in all pins.
-- Check the rubber bushing -3- and the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- -item 1- for the correct seating.
-- Insert the brake lines -1 and 2- into the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- and then install the union bolts by hand and tighten.
-- Connect the connector -3-.
-- After securing the brake lines to the hydraulic unit select the "Hydraulic connections, basic setting" program. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC ENTRIES .
-- Follow the instructions in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
-- Remove the Brake Pedal Actuator: VAG1869/2 .
-- Bleed the brake system. Refer to HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, BLEEDING .
-- Complete the "Control module, replacing" program after replacing the hydraulic control unit. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Faulty brakes increase the risk of an accident.
- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
