Shift Control Assembly

  1. Remove bolts in top and side of transmission case. Remove clamp from end of lower selector rod. Pull selector rod towards rear and remove operating lever. Drive out selector arm pin and pull selector rod towards rear. Remove selector arm.
  2. Push 5th-Reverse shift rod towards rear enough to expose fork. Drive out pin and remove fork with sliding sleeve. Turn selector rod until slot faces upward and remove by pulling towards rear. See Fig 1 .
    NOTE: Take care not to lose detent balls when performing the following procedures.

  3. Remove pins in driving dog and 1st-2nd shift fork. Remove driving dog. Engage 3rd gear. Remove pin from 3rd-4th shift fork by driving out between gap in sliding sleeve tooth and opening in 3rd gear. Remove 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th shift forks.
