Continuous Electronic Damper Control: Notes

The EDC-K system records road surface, vehicle load and dynamic handling data. The control module adjusts the damping force of the shock absorbers according to those parameters. In contrast with the previous system, the damping force is infinitely variable. The driver also has the possibility to choose a Comfort or two Sport settings. On the E60/M5 the setting is made by the driver using the center console switch cluster or together with the M-Drive mode using the multifunction steering wheel.
