61 31... Removing and installing/replacing parking lock from series status 09/2008
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION) .
Necessary preliminary tasks
- Remove gear selector switch. See 61 31 342 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING GEAR SELECTOR SWITCH (TWIN-CLUTCH GEARBOX) FROM SERIES STATUS 09/2008
- Remove parking lock cable from transmission . See 28 00 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TWIN-CLUTCH GEARBOX (GS7D36SG) N54, N55 .
Release screws (1).
Feed rubber seal (2) completely out of gear selector switch (3).
Release parking lock (4) at points (5) and remove in direction of arrow.
Installation:
Make sure parking lock (4) is exactly seated on gear selector switch (3).
Make sure rubber seal (2) is correctly seated.
Install gear selector switch (1).
Install parking lock cable on transmission . See 28 00 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TWIN-CLUTCH GEARBOX (GS7D36SG) N54, N55 .
Installation:
Make sure rubber seal is correctly seated.
Release handle (1) from gear selector switch (2).
Withdraw transportation lock (3) from parking lock (4).
US version only:
Transmission emergency release (5) is provided with a grey cap.
